Microsoft Internet Explorer存在多个漏洞
-Gopher协议处理器存在缓冲溢出，这个漏洞在http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/bulletin/MS02-027.asp中已经讨论过，不过没有进行补丁发布，现在Microsoft已经提供补丁。
-显示特殊格式文本的ActiveX控件存在缓冲溢出，由于"Caption"参数对缓冲边界缺少检查而导致，详细见http://online.securityfocus.com/archive/1/289106。
-IE在处理HTML指示显示XML数据时存在问题，默认设计，只允许XML数据只能在自身WEB站点上显示，但是没有正确引用XML数据源是否来自不同域，利用"file://"可以导致XML数据显示别的域中的数据，导致用户保存的其他站点的COOKIE数据泄露。或者本地文件泄露。
-IE在处理下载文件对话框起源存在问题，这个问题可以导致攻击者提供恶意文件内容，但显示的对话框却来信任的站点，而导致用户盲目下载文件并可能执行。
-由于对OBJECT标签中不正确的域检查问题，可以使恶意WEB站点管理员建立恶意WEB访问用户其他域中的数据。
-IE存在一个类似http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/bulletin/MS02-023.asp描述的跨站脚本执行攻击，恶意用户可以建立WEB页，当页面打开时，脚本代码在用户浏览器中执行，导致信息泄露。
另外这个补丁集合也对MSN Chat ActiveX控件存在缓冲溢出(http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/bulletin/MS02-022.asp)和TSAC ActiveX控件存在缓冲溢出(http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/bulletin/MS02-046)设置了'kill bit'位，可修正这些问题。
